I started drawing and painting as a teenager in Denver.  My grandmother was an artist who worked in oil. My mother majored in art and music at the University of Denver. I wanted to go to art school but was discouraged by my parents. I became a nurse where there were more jobs available.

I took art lessons in high school and learned to paint in oils. I like to work in oil because of the great colors! I did an oil painting of my mother in high school and went on to draw and paint dinosaurs. I have illustrated three books on dinosaurs.

Recently I have been doing oil paintings of dogs, starting with one of our grand dogs.
