My work is executed in mixed media and acrylic onto canvas, wood, or paper. Often, I begin my work with a quote, a poem, collage, leftover paint on my pallet, or simply expressive marks revealed in that moment. Each piece has meaning and evolution, often times with many layers, and my process is spontaneous, intuitive, playful. I frequently paint over previously finished paintings which creates depth and texture. Experimenting with new techniques and materials is a constant in my practice. Passionate about learning and creating, I have profoundly benefited from participating a variety of art workshops and classes locally and around the US, and attended an artist residency in France in the fall of 2022, which was amazing. I also facilitate painting, collage and mixed media classes which help me to connect and be of service to others in my practice.
