Studio #24, Open Oct 7, 8, 14, 15

I create large scale nonrepresentational oil paintings on canvas at my 3,000 square foot studio in Boulder. The works are mostly created intuitively in response to the influence of music, travel experiences, the outdoors, the environment of the moment, my mood, and a strong desire to express myself freely. The oils I use are all single pigment paints. I typically use a limited palette in the paintings with colors being derived from a lot of time mixing. I rarely use colors on the canvas which come straight out of the tube. I'm particularly drawn to produce large scale works because they provide an opportunity to be more physically immersed in the atmosphere I'm creating.
