I am a Colorado native and have always been a visual person and studied Environmental Design at the University of Colorado and worked in this field in New York City. I grew up sewing my own cloths and have always loved creating following in the footsteps of my mother who was a fiber artist. I began painting seriously in 2017 and enjoy the challenge of capturing the essence of an object, person, animal or scene and use color to transform subjects and bring them to life in a modern impressionistic style. My work has a western aesthetic reflective of the landscapes of the American West and Mexico. I work mainly in acrylic but have added oil painting, mixed media, fiber and sculpture to my list of creations. My education in art includes design and fine art classes at the University of Colorado, painting/design workshops & classes and study with numerous local artists. I am a Member Artist at pARTiculars Gallery in Lafayette where I teach acrylic painting.
