Cathy Faughnan
I grew up in Pueblo CO watching and learning to sew from my mother turned textile artist. I attended the University of Colorado where I received a degree in Environmental Design with many classes in art, design and art history. I then worked as an urban planner in New York City but always wanted to paint. I moved back to Colorado in 2003 and raised three kids in Lafayette while volunteering and dabbling in painting. In 2017 when my youngest graduated from high school, I finally had time to really focus on painting, and started taking classes from local artists, attending workshops and experimenting with different mediums and techniques. I work mainly in acrylic mixed media. My work is on display at Western Stars Gallery in Lyons, Open Studios Gallery at Boulder Junction and pARTiculars Gallery in Lafayette where I teach acrylic painting and mixed media.
