Scott Harrison
I founded the Carousel of Happiness in Nederland, Colorado and carved its animals and other sculptures on site. It opened in 2010. In 2016 I created the Council of Kindness, a circular bench populated by six wooden animals and 67 birds that is meant to be a meditative, quiet space for visitors. It has been at Medicine Horse in Boulder and the Eagle's Healing Nest in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. It will soon be located in Boulder County on the property of Warrior Storyfield. I am working on a third circle of animals called A Gathering of Sorrow, a collection of seven wooden animals, each representing a world continent, which are positioned to look into a pile of plastic and other waste, examples of humans' wasteful ways on earth.
