As a contemporary impressionist painter, I love to paint with vibrant color palettes and thickly textured impasto, often using only a palette knife. I build paintings through many layers to create heightened depth and a sense of movement across the canvas. If you look closely, you’ll find subtle variances of color within each tiny portion of a painting.
Painting is an intuitive process for me, sometimes using photos as reference but often pulling from memory and imagination. I explore varying levels of abstraction rather than exact representation.
Each piece I create is a celebration of the natural world. I hope to allow viewers a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own experiences of nature.
Growing up on a ranch in rural Montana deeply shaped my relationship with the landscape. I studied Art & Design at the Univ. of Montana & Graphic Design at NC State’s College of Design before moving to Colorado, where the surrounding environment continues to influence my work.
