Barbara Froula
My painting is inspired by place. It's a creative response to my surroundings, whether I'm close to home or traveling. Having an architectural background, I'm attracted to cityscapes and interesting building forms. In Boulder, I find inspiration in the historic streets and mountain scenery — or right outside my door as a mountain lion passes by. Painting commissions for Historic Denver, Historic Boulder, Central City Opera, the Brown Palace, Bolder Boulder and so many others have sparked a collection that celebrates our treasured architectural and cultural legacy.
I attended Auburn University and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, receiving an Architecture degree with a large dose of painting watercolor on location. I love welcoming visitors to the Boulder home and studio that I designed and built.
