Rob Bein
I have been an artist most of my life. I have worked with multiple mediums. For many years now I have been focused on fiber and textile art. Working with fabric as a medium suits my kinesthetic sensibilities. I have endeavored to stretch the boundaries, incorporating paint and mixed media, at times working in three dimensions.
Being retired from my psychiatric practice has given me more time to explore and express this passion. I keep my eye out for unusual "found fabrics" from old clothing, silk that I have obtained from my travels and from discarded silk ties. (Who wears ties these days?). My work varies from abstract to folk art to political themes.
