This year's submissions to Open Studios were all inspired by the outdoors — my favorite place to be. Some paintings capture everyday experiences like beautiful sunrises during morning hikes. Others are from my travels. I feel so fortunate to live in Colorado and discover other places, too. After 40 years here, not a day goes by when I forget this privilege. As an artist, I have an opportunity to extend these experiences and share them with others through my paintings. When I have the opportunity to talk to patrons, this shared interest in art and nature is what stands out to me. Nothing is better than that for me.
