Dan Baumbach
Our wives. Our husbands. Our lovers. Our friends. They’re probably not fashion models, or actors, or rock stars, but to us, they’re beautiful, probably more beautiful than the models, actors and rock stars. We see something in them that moves us on a profound level.
I approach my photography in a similar way. I’m blessed to live in such a beautiful place, and I go out and try to get something more than a snapshot of its beauty.
There are so many beautiful places we can go to and just point our phones during any part of the day and take a beautiful capture. And everyone else can do the same. I’m not interested in that. I don’t want a memory that’s never as good as being there. I want something that stands on its own framed on a wall that commands its own attention —not as a memory but as something timelessly beautiful like our wives, friends and pets.
