Medium: Painting, Watercolor, Acrylic
My practice encompasses two painting media: watercolor and acrylic. Some subject matter screams to be done in watercolor — like a potential series on skies that I have in mind — while the textural variation enabled by acrylics draws me to explore that more and more. I am mostly a studio painter rather than a plein air artist, although I have done both. Over the last year, my availability to paint has been a bit limited due to part-time employment and some extended family obligations that have recently lightened, so I am looking forward to engaging more systematically in both mediums throughout this summer. I also want to explore more multimedia approaches to painting — e.g., adding collage into the mix.
