Anne Greenstreet
I typically like to build cradled panels from scratch and mount them with linen for my works, but time constraints sometimes require using stretched linen. For small works, I like using small panels. I typically find a composition through thumbnail sketches from life or from using paper to crop images on my computer. Next, I ideally do a pencil sketch of the composition to plan out how the values will work and assist in the piece. Then, I transfer the drawing to the canvas, do a wipeout underpainting, and move to color.
