Linda Toukan
Art and earth have been in my blood since childhood. My mother was an award-winning potter and sculptor who created until age 89, teaching me that both design and life require fluidity and evolution. My father collected early American fine art and metal artifacts, instilling in me a reverence for hand-forged metalwork. My grandfather spent decades collecting rocks, fossils, and gemstones across the Western states—his passion for the earth inspired me to study geology in college.
My work embraces organic forms and elegant simplicity, often combining silver, bronze, copper and gold to create striking contrast and depth. I work through fusing—heating silver with a torch to near-melting temperatures, traditional metalsmithing techniques, and Keum Boo, an ancient technique of bonding Silver and Gold. From start to finish, most pieces require 30 to 100 individual steps.
These are heirloom pieces designed to be worn, treasured, and passed down.
