Peg Connery-Boyd
My loose and colorful work bridges the gap between realism and abstraction. I seek to express the light and energy of a scene, a person, or an object, and to engage the viewer to share in the experience. I started painting over twenty years ago, studying in a very realistic tradition, painting figures, portraits and still life in a studio setting and although I value the lessons I learned about color and composition, I have found myself leaning more abstract and freestyle, as the years go on. Truthfully, I am having a lot of fun!
I paint subjects that bring me joy, including majestic mountains, sunsets over the water, or flowers in windowlight. With every brushstroke, I hope that I can spread more positive energy into the world..
I also practice Reiki and meditation, and my intention is to impart a bit of healing grace into my work.
