Willi Eggerman
As a clay artist, I reference the seed pod and botanical imagery for its structure & beauty. In my work the seed pod symbolizes women, more specifically, motherhood. Pods, are beautiful as they swell, open & dry, even as they disintegrate. Revering their strength, beauty and practicality in each stage, I include them in the forms of sculptures I make and in abstract paintings on porcelain tableware as well. I've worked in clay for over 40 years, enjoying making one of a kind objects and sculptures. Clay gives opportunities for creative growth and learning for a lifetime. At my studio you will find tableware, wall sculptures and free standing sculptures for the home. There is always something new that I'm learning from as well.
