Inspired by graphics used in craft-beer packaging, I incorporate these visual images and words into my pieces. By dissecting, separating and rearranging the graphics from their original function, my pieces communicate a whole new message. I am a huge fan of craft beer and its rich history of independence, camaraderie, and quality. I honor their emphasis on creativity and making drinking a craft beer a social and authentic phenomenon. The fresh and innovative feel of the label designs have influenced me to push my art beyond boundaries in order to be bold, vibrant and funky. I hope to extend the experience of sharing a beer with a friend to include the charm of re-purposing and up-cycling items that would normally be discarded.
By honoring my passions, instincts and individuality, I bring a sense of vitality and emotion to carefully curate each piece to showcase its ingenuity and personality.
