During the pandemic years, I have continued to explore new techniques for making glass sculptures that reflect my journeys through Western landscapes, with their jagged rock forms, weathered patterns, and mineral layers. All of these, and more, have shaped the lines, structures, colors, and textures of my most recent glass art works. I am an abstract artist who works in kilnformed glass, and I have been striving, especially in recent years, to discover and create new ways of producing uneven topographies, cross-sections, bands, and surfaces in glass. Where will all this take me? It really doesn’t matter. My journeys through Western landforms and the glass art they can inspire have been wonderful and enriching, with new discoveries at every turn.
