A passion for watercolor painting and life! This is a great way to describe how I feel about painting and why I paint. Immersing myself in the fluid and unpredictable qualities of watercolor is exciting. I have control of planning, composition, and drawing, then I loosen up to apply the paint and let the magic happen. My joy is to capture the atmosphere of nature, urban scenes, people and animals, using light, colors, and shapes.
My artwork is created with a realistic painterly style, both in the studio and en plein air.
Teaching painting to other artists is a large part of my career. Teaching beginning painters to accomplished painters has given me the chance to learn just as much from my students as they do with my classes. Constant growth is important.
I grew up in Montreal and California, traveling around the world, and have lived in Colorado for over 31 years. Formally training: Art Institute of Boston and Massachusetts College of Art, graduating from both schools with a BFA.
