Building on S side of Street, with blue mural
When painting a watercolor, I love the mechanical phase of creating a sketch and then sometimes a small version of the painting either in black and white or in color, together with a color swatch for that particular piece.
Then the real fun begins as I surrender to the brushes. Through that process brush strokes can be detailed and also loose spontaneous and broad.
Color is an important factor and my intention is to reflect the energetic quality of the painting through the colors used, such as a warm and vibrant orange which is said can heal at the nucleus level in the cells, healing green, clarifying blue and the purple of transmutation. My art practice blossomed after a stroke, initially as a healing for myself, and it developed into an intention for transmitting inner light and joy to others via the painting. Some may see it, others may not. I’m happy it is there regardless.
