At an early age, I was experimenting with layered floating geometric designs, which evolved into creating geometric compositions. Inspired by Islamic ornamental designs, the motifs are made with only a compass, pencil, and a ruler. The stained-glass pieces focus on isolated geometric shapes using the copper foil technique. My paintings use tessellations to create expanding designs that seem as if they can go on forever. My style emerged after my bipolar disorder began to stabilize. I find comfort in the straight lines, perfect angles, symmetry, and repeating geometric shapes. Working on these designs is a form of relaxation that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else.
