I have been passionate about art for as long as I can remember! Not just creating but seeing and experiencing it as well. I spent 12 years abroad where I could experience the work of the masters in their hometown museums, sketching and doing art studies while continuing my career in the food, beverage, and hospitality industry. After returning home, I utilized this growing talent and passion to design my restaurants and create plated food art.

A lifetime of being a restaurateur left little time to hone my painting skills but in 2017 after selling my fifth and last restaurant, releasing my memoir cookbook, and appearing on the Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Guy’s Grocery Games”, I have been able to dedicate all my time to art.

In following my relationship with food I have done many still life creations in this theme but my real interest lies in figurative and portrait. I work primarily in oil and acrylic but dabble in mixed media, using vintage documents within the body of my work to tell a story. My work has been shown at Millers and Rossi Art Gallery, Library at College Hill, Erie Recreational Center, Louisville Art Association, Particulars Art Gallery, Kingman Estate Winery, Winery at Holy Cross, Spark Gallery, R Gallery and Bittersweet Café. Ateliers: Glen Villpu, Robin D’Amore, Shauna Levenson, Jeanne Houghen, Dennis Perrin
