I work with watercolor where I build successive layers of color to create vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. Since moving to Boulder in 1976, I have found my inspiration in the natural beauty of Colorado.
I reflect with gratitude upon the life of creative expression that I have been so blessed to enjoy, and look forward with anticipation to that which is yet to emerge. Imagery, like a pictorial journal, has chronicled my journey thus far. Increasingly aware of the multitudes that have walked this path before me and of the multitudes that shall follow in my footsteps, I continue with enthusiasm to paint my perceptions of the world as I experience it. On my many walks and hikes throughout the area, I am always on the lookout for new subject matter to which I can apply my own unique vision. I relish the depiction of a magic moment, the glories of nature, and the evidence I find of the pulse of life, both past and present.
I have had the privilege to be chosen as the eight time poster artist for the Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. I have received commissions to commemorate noteworthy occasions for both the City of Boulder and Boulder County. One of the most rewarding aspects of my long career is that I have had the opportunity to bring joy into the lives of others with my artwork.
