Working with fabrics and making quilts has been part of my life since I was a kid. At 15, I sold quilted pillows to boutiques in West Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. Today, I am busy designing heirloom art quilts for private collections, as well as for family and friends.
My designs are inspired by the world around me, including the wonderful color combinations observed in nature, and the remarkable work of abstract artists, as well as the legacy left behind by quilters of the past. My projects range in size from small wall hangings to king size quilts, depending on the design and recipient. When I collaborate with customers, I aim to find the optimal combination of pattern, color, and size to create a unique quilt which reflects the client’s vision in conjunction with my personal artistic expression. I conceptualize and design quilt layouts, select fabrics and colors, and create the machine-pieced tops of each quilt I make. I collaborate with long-arm quilters who sew the quilt tops, batting, and back layers together. I then complete each quilt with hand-sewn binding and custom labelling on the back.
Formerly an interior designer in Washington, DC for over twenty years, I have a strong affinity for color, pattern, and texture. I welcome inquiries via phone/email regarding custom commissions for you or your dear ones.
