What has always attracted me to painting is how it is different from most photography, how it’s more like a brief glance or a memory or a dream, loaded with emotion and power that mundane life seems to hide. That’s so subtle that i never understood it. I take my cues from artists like the German expressionists, political artists, early 20th century painters like Soutine or Kokoshka or Matisse.

In the last twenty years I seem to have settled on painting and sculpture. and subject matter ranges from the political to the personal, for example, from the psychological issues of world leaders to the small attitudinal changes in my own life.
