My painting process is always an exploration. The idea often morphs far from the starting point.
Acrylic paint allows thin washes, thick strokes, and everything in between. Most of my paintings include multiple layers using these different methods.
One of the challenges is when to stop. Once I've stopped, I study the image for a while and usually go back and change something. Sometimes a lot of somethings.
The core question for me is to ask again, "What is this painting/process about?" The answer guides the next steps. My painting process is always an exploration. The idea often morphs far from the starting point.
