Direct knowledge of a force greater than oneself can be attained through experiences such as intuition, insight and ultimately through the practice of making art. The artist as mystic is one who accesses energy and enlivened awareness. It is said that the mystic begins to draw sustenance from super sensuous sources. He has “drunk the Infinite” and a hidden knowledge and potency begin to sweep through the gates of his senses. The artist then makes visible this hidden bliss. Ultimately our goal is the quest for truth and wisdom as art that has a presence or quality that cannot be expressed in words.)
